Andrea Wilkinson
Andrea Wilkinson is a design lecturer and researcher at the MAD-faculty, Media, Arts & Design Faculty, Genk where she teaches across the CMD and Graphic Design programmes and researches within the Social Spaces research group. Originally from a small Midwestern American town in Missouri, she has lived abroad for the last decade including 6 years in New Zealand.
Her personal design projects deal mostly with ‘text’, not merely as typographic form, but how text can offer suggestions of meaning and memory. The projects selected for this show fall under this heading. Reusing the poster as vehicle to share stories and experience.
As a professional designer, she works across a range of media and content, from creating illustrations for children's tv programs and editorial layout to developing identities and websites and even the occasional short film.
Andrea resides in Diest with her partner and two cats.
